Qaadir Hicks

Qaadir Hicks performed his first tap routine at age seven
and he has been dancing ever since!



His interest eventually led him to train in Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, & Contemporary dance with UNC School of the Arts, Carolina Ballet, & the International Ballet Academy.


He earned a BFA in Dance Performance
from East Carolina University.





An active member of Wilmington's Dance Community, Qaadir's talent has been featured in numerous works presented for local showcases. He danced the role of Nutcracker in multiple Wilmington productions, and has performed for Opera House Theater Company, Forward Motion Dance Company, and in the Wilmington Dance Festival.


He has performed many times in Dancealorus, the eagerly anticipated "kick-off" event for the Cuculorus Film Festival. His choreography has also been among works selected for showing in this distinguished annual concert.






Qaadir delivered an unforgettable performance as "Bumble" the abominable snowman in The Dance Element's 2016 production of RUDOLPH.

He stole the show (again) in 2017 as the "Mayor" in our dance adaptation of The Year Without Santa.






Qaadir has been a beloved member of
The Dance Element’s professional faculty since the fall of 2016, and he is responsible for choreographing some of our most memorable, all-time favorite group numbers.


His talent & passion inspire students of all ages & he is grateful for the opportunity to share his knowledge & creativity with our happy dancers.
